对不起.

对不起. duì bu qĭ. Sorry.

I really did think, I could do it. I was wrong - .
Updating on a regular basis, covering everything is just not possible anymore. Chinese life has taken control;

luckily.

Olympic Park.

Thursday. March 23rd. Olympic Park.

I took my bike out to the Olympic Park, which will be the location of most of the venues for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. It is one gigantic construction site. I spent more than an hour cycling all the way around it. There was not much to see. Walls obstruct the view and at every gate there is security personnel, preventing people from taking pictures. However, nothing could hide the highrising structures of the National Stadium. (Design by Swiss architects Herzog & deMeuron by the way.) I am really looking forward to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. They will be amazing.

National Aquatics Center.

On the way around - part of the northern boundary of the Olympic Park.

大山子.

Tuesday. March 21st. 大山子. Dàshānzi.

In the afternoon, I went to the DaShanZi art district with my Chinese class. DaShanZi is an old industrial district, which today is full of art galleries and small stylish bars and cafes. After a great Korean lunch, we went out to explore. It is an amazing place. It seems like an oasis in this huge busy city - calm and pleasant to the eye.
The weather was horribly smoggy. In the taxi on the way back, stuck in traffic, I got a first taste of what it might be like in the summer.

On the way back - 4th ringroad.

Time, where art thou?

I am having a bit of a crisis.
It is the same as always.

Too many things, I must do.
Too many things, I am expected to do.
Too many things, I would like to do.
TOO LITTLE TIME.
That means a lot of times, I end up doing nothing.

I will do a series of quick updates during the next days.
Please have patience.
